How to read a shade
Level, then tone
7/1
The number before the slash is the level: how light or dark the result is, from 1 (black) to 10 (platinum blonde). The number after it is the tone. A repeated digit, like 7/11, means a more intense tone. A second digit, like 5/34, adds a secondary tone.
